Subnautica 2 Dev Vlog Points Next Update Toward EA1.1

Unknown Worlds published "Swimming Forward" on June 4, 2026, the first Subnautica 2 dev vlog after Early Access launch. The useful player answer is simple: this is a roadmap cadence update, not a new patch note. Hotfix 3 is still the latest concrete patch, while EA1.1 is now the next official update focus.

What the June 4 dev vlog confirms

The official Unknown Worlds post says the team is moving from the frequent rapid hotfix cadence used after launch toward the upcoming EA1.1 update. The wording to keep is "in a few weeks," not a locked release date.

It also points players toward the official Discord and the Subnautica 2 Nolt board for discussion and upvoted feedback. That matters because EA1.1 is now the right destination for "next update" expectations, while bug fixes already named in Hotfix 3 should stay attached to Hotfix 3 pages.

What it does not confirm

  • It is not Hotfix 4.
  • It does not publish final EA1.1 patch notes.
  • It does not give a fixed EA1.1 release date.
  • It does not change recipe, spawn, damage, route, map, or creature values by itself.

What to watch for in EA1.1

The existing Early Access roadmap already places quality-of-life and usability work in the EA1.1 bucket, including biomods, blight encounters, wrecks, vehicle docking and fabrication, PDA and voicelog priority, storage cache, and sprint. The June 4 dev vlog turns that bucket into the current watch target.

Until the actual EA1.1 patch note lands, those topics should be treated as roadmap items. They belong on the roadmap, biomods, vehicles, base-building, updates, and community pages, but not as final values on item or creature pages.

Current patch baseline

Early Access Hotfix 3 remains the latest official patch baseline. It is still the correct source for DLSS 4.5, DLSS crash and settings fixes, Frame Generation availability, Interior Wall cost reduction, Hammerhead and Tadpole behavior, Nibbler and Marrowbreach tuning, multiplayer rejoin cleanup, Strike Armor cleanup, Tadpole Haul Chassis visual cleanup, and rare startup crash fixes.
