Subnautica 2 Seeds & Coordinate Sharing

A planning page for how Subnautica 2 players can share spawn points, base coordinates, and run routes once Early Access goes live. The page will fill in with real coordinates as community reports arrive.

In short: Subnautica 2 looks set to use a hand-crafted map, like Subnautica 1 and Below Zero, so seeds in the Minecraft sense do not apply. Players share coordinates, base spots, and route plans instead. This page collects that format and links the related wiki entries.

What players can usefully share

These are the categories this page will collect once Early Access is live. Right now they describe the format, not real entries.

Lifepod or spawn drop point

Coordinates plus a short description of nearby terrain so other players can recognise the area before opening their map.

Base anchor coordinates

Where a long-running base sits, with notes on power source, depth, and which biomes it can reach in one dive.

Wreck and POI locations

Coordinates and a verified screenshot if possible. Mark whether the wreck was scanned by the player sharing or just observed in footage.

Run-route templates

A short list of waypoints for a specific goal, such as a first-hour scan loop or a deep-zone resource trip.

Co-op session presets

Role assignments, base-sharing rules, and which planet zones a group agrees to push into together.

Why "seeds" works differently here

  • Subnautica 2 is built around a hand-crafted ocean planet. Traditional procedural-seed sharing in the Minecraft sense does not apply here unless Unknown Worlds adds a seed system later.
  • Coordinate sharing replaces seed sharing. The map is the same for everyone, but the route, base spot, and discovery order are personal.
  • Treat early Early Access coordinates as soft. Patches can shift POI positions, currents, or spawn rules during the 2 to 3 year EA window.
  • Co-op sessions add a second layer: the host's save state, not just the world, determines what each guest sees.

Pending verification: if Unknown Worlds ships a seed-based feature or save-export tool during Early Access, this page will switch to documenting the real system.

Submission format

Once we open community submissions, every entry should hit these fields so other players can re-verify what they read.

Field Example
Topic Mid-depth base spot near reef edge
Coordinates (-340, -180, 540), depth around 180m
Biome Neon Coral Gardens border
Verified on Build 1.0.x, May 2026
Why it is useful Solar power viable, two wreck routes within a five minute dive
Source Own playthrough, screenshot attached
