The Rebreather helps with the increased oxygen cost of deeper dives. Budget for its Fiber Mesh and System Chip after building a Standard Air Tank, and keep a clear return route when moving into deeper wrecks or caves.
Quick answer: Complete the Rebreather scan, then craft it at the Fabricator with 2 Fiber Mesh and 1 System Chip. It conserves oxygen on deeper dives. Keep an Air Tank equipped as well: the Rebreather improves oxygen use rather than supplying a fresh oxygen reserve.

Route and unlock plan
Use oxygen-depth route planning before deep material or wreck trips.
Step 1
Complete the blueprint scan
The Rebreather recipe requires one completed Rebreather scan.
Step 2
Prepare the fabric
Make 2 Fiber Mesh from 4 Fiber and 2 Strong Acid. Four Fiber requires 8 Fibrous Pulp.
Step 3
Make one System Chip
Reserve 2 raw Quartz and 1 Wiring Kit for the System Chip.
Step 4
Craft and equip
Use the Fabricator, equip the Rebreather and refill oxygen before testing a longer route.
