Quick answer: 2 Quartz makes 1 Glass. Add 1 Creature Enamel to that Glass for 1 Enameled Glass. For Bioscanner's two Enameled Glass, reserve 4 Quartz and 2 Creature Enamel; its Scanner and Conduit Crystal costs are separate.

Glass is useful, but early inventory is tight. Convert Quartz when a recipe needs it instead of turning every starter material into finished parts.
