Nibblershark
A streamlined predator with a flattened head and bold blue-and-yellow banding. Mid-tier threat — aggressive but manageable. Hunts in loose groups across multiple biomes, but unlike the Collector Leviathan it does not pursue across biome boundaries, which is the main mechanic to exploit.

Core facts
Behaviour
Pursuit predator. The Nibblershark engages when you enter its territory and gives chase for as long as you stay in its biome. Loose-group spawning means you may see two or three in proximity, but aggro does not stack across the group. Once you cross a biome boundary, the pursuit ends and the creature returns to patrol.
The blue-and-yellow banding is your distance warning. If you spot it before it spots you, you have the option to detour rather than commit. Once aggroed, swimming straight rarely works — the Nibblershark matches walking speed.
Survival tips
- Equip the Wakemaker before any biome where Nibblersharks are reported. It is the cheapest tool that out-paces them.
- Plan your route with a biome edge in mind. The mechanical guarantee that pursuit ends at the boundary is your strongest defensive lever.
- A Tadpole submersible also clears the speed gap and removes the oxygen pressure during the chase.
- Striking with the Survival Multitool only adds aggro without dropping the Nibblershark. The Multitool is a tool, not a weapon.
- If a Nibblershark group is sitting between you and your base, lure one to the edge with a flare, swim around the gap, and let aggro decay.
Questions people ask
Is the Nibblershark dangerous?
Yes, but manageable. It is a mid-tier pursuit predator that gives chase when you enter its territory. Unlike the Collector Leviathan, the Nibblershark does not pursue across biome boundaries, so a clean biome transition usually ends the chase.
How do you escape a Nibblershark?
Equip the Wakemaker and burst toward a biome edge. The Nibblershark cannot match Wakemaker top speed, and once you cross the biome line, the pursuit ends. A submersible like the Tadpole also outpaces it. Hand-to-hand combat is not recommended — the Survival Multitool is a tool, not a weapon.
What does a Nibblershark look like?
A streamlined predator with a wide, flattened head and bold blue-and-yellow banding along the body. The colour band makes it easy to spot from a distance, which is the main warning the game gives you to back off.
Do Nibblersharks hunt in packs?
They run in loose groups rather than coordinated packs. Expect two or three in proximity in a hunting zone, but they do not stack aggro — drawing one does not automatically pull all of them.
